\\\\\\\\\this is the family of Philip Crump and Alice Crump circa 1907. In 1910 Philip drowned trying to save lad from drowning.

Yes a comment was made in the Bugle some one had made a note of it. Also in a Paper in the Newcastle Journal on the 2nd August 1910 and also in the evening Telegraph Dundee also he was awarded a Humane Society Bronze Award. It reads Horace Hadley Aged 14 Case no 37463
On the 20th of June a youth, while bathing in the Stour at Halesowen ,got into a deep hole. Hadley went in to try and rescue him ,but failed. Philip Crump then went in and lost his life in trying to save the youth who was drowned.
In Memoriam to relatives of Crump.
The Carnegie Hero Fund awarded Mrs Crump of Halesowen Worcestershire £33 a month also Hadley was awarded the same. The person that drowned was named as Ernest Sidaway.
